22:44 Right

Haven't felt right most of this week. Thankfully, yesterday seemed to be the

worst of feeling bad, and I don't feel nearly as bad tonight. It's always

amazing to me how illness poisons my frame of mind. Being sick makes it very

hard to maintain a sense of perspective on things.

I'm also dreading going back to work. Phill and Ed were working a ton this week

on the discrepancy issue with care gaps. And the conclusion seems to be that I

fucked up the attribution code with physicians, and that we were assigning gaps

to practices that were in trials. I don't know how that keeps happening. But I

also suppose it doesn't help to dwell on it at all.

Aside from that, thanksgiving went well this year. The two meals things ended up

kinda weird, but I actually had a really good time at the Big House, though the

food was better at mom's. There's probably a lesson in there somewhere.

I picked up a book of short stories by E. L. Doctorow today as well and was

delighted. The first story was of a well-to-do man in a loveless marriage

deciding to just not go home one night and instead take up living in the attic

above his garage. The whole story then turns on his discovering how to live with

nothing and scrounging for things. Mostly I was impressed with the reduction of

life into the bare essentials of getting by.
