Had a nice interview with Kevin from Thorn today. I still am suffering from
serious imposter symdrome. But I think I can counter it by doing some coding
exercises leading up to my next interview with them, if I get one. Their mission
is fantastic, and I really like the idea of working for a not-for-profit running
like a startup. It's a job that I don't have to preface with, "well, it's just a
job" to many people.
We also had our second interview with Shawn Blodgett today, and he's really
excited to come to Castine. We made him an offer and will be following up either
tomorrow or Friday to see if takes the offer. All very exiciting.
Now to start thinking about actually working with him. I also got some really
nice feedback from folks about the meet-and-greet I held at the library. A
number of folks really appreciated the opportunity to meet him.
I've been avoiding hitting folks up in RAB slack about being laid off and
looking to move to management, and now I've got my next mentorship meeting with
Cris tomorrow. Not sure how that's going to go. I've got my self in quite a hole
regarding engineering and my career right now. I do always feel better after
talking to Cris, so that's probably a good thing.
