Timeline
- Note taken on
I survived the red eye from LAX to ORD and stayed awake for the three hour
layover in Chicago. Now I'm on my way back to Bangor through some pretty rough
skies. There's no in-flight service due to the turbulence.
It was really nice getting back to work a little. I do, however, need to more
intentional about getting back to my mentorship with Jacob and support tooling.
- Note taken on
The Getty, Sunset, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Pier on the drive and tapas
before LAX. Today was hardly perfect, but it was good.
Dad had never been to the Getty. One exhibit told a story through frescoes of
the artist Taddeo going from his small town to Renaissance Rome to apprentice
as an artist. From doing menial tasks for his master's wife to becoming a
celebrated artist in Rome. I loved how it was basically the same story telling
mechanisms as a comic book, but done via frescoes 500 years ago.
Not that I thought Dad would really disagree with me, but it was reassuring to
get confirmation that the path Sarah is on right now is right. It doesn't help
my situation with Amanda all that much, as it only confirms what Amanda
already suspected about how Dad and I are so similar. But the confirmation was
good nonetheless.
