00:21 Getting things done

Trying to re-visit using GTD to organize my life. It's been nice having a break from Elation this week. I've been able to catch up on a lot of little things around the house and the farm that needed to get done. I think I was overly hard on myself the last few days regarding getting things done. There was the 4th of July on Wednesday, and today we had a midwife appointment.

But when we got home from Belfast this evening I was able to turn to and mark some things off my list. I cleaned out the kitchen some, and tidied up my side of the bedroom.

I am feeling increasingly guilty about my preparation for Peaks to Portland this year. I haven't swum in nearly a week, and still don't have a kayaker. For some reason I've avoided asking Dirk if he'll do it. Dirk is very much a man who says no when he really doesn't want to do something. There's very little sense of duty or guilt in him. Mostly I think I'm afraid he'll say no. Which is absurd, because with him, if he says no he means it and that's that.

11:16 Wood bank

Started my day splitting wood at the dump; helping Bubba with the wood bank project. Felt goo to be able to chip in. I am definitely the youngest person there, and I think my enthusiasm is appreciated.

Now we're heading to pick strawberries. It was only in the car that I was reminded that there's a birthday party this afternoon at the Brownell's. Not sure where the time goes, but it seems unlikely I'll be able to get a run in and solid work around the house.

I had on my next items to finish clearing the porch off, and put up new gutters where possible. But now I'm not sure that's going to happen. I would still like to gather some measurements for the garden gazebo, and start laying out new paths in the garden as well. We'll see.
